The Agatha Christie Book Tag: 10 Questions for Mystery Lovers

Introduction

Hello, Bookworm Buddies. Today, I found The Agatha Christie Book Tag on a YouTube video from
Lil’s Vintage World. She is the original creator of this tag, so do check out her video. It is a fun tag, and if you are an Agatha Christie fan, then you will love it. I love doing book tags because these book tag questions always reveal new things about myself or my reading habits.

The Agatha Christie Book Tag

Let’s Start The Agatha Christie Book Tag.

1. How did you first get into reading Agatha Christie? & which of her books did you read first?

I saw a YouTube video about book recommendations, and one book recommended was And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. I was captivated by the description, which prompted me to purchase and read it, and it was the start of my reading journey.

2. Have you read any books on Agatha and her life? (Autobiographies, biographies, etc)

No, I haven’t read it yet, but it’s definitely on my TBR, and I have her autobiography, and I am planning to read it soon, hopefully.

3. Have you watched any adaptations of Agatha Christie’s books; films, TV shows, plays etc? If so, do you have a favourite?

I think I have watched one, so I can’t say my favourite one, but I have watched Death on the Nile on Hotstar, though I haven’t read the book yet.

4. Which book of Agatha Christie’s has your favourite villain?

Obviously the first book that I read, And Then There Were None.

5. Which book of Agatha Christie’s would you like to read/ re-read next?

I haven’t read a book by her for quite sometime so I think the next book that I would like to read is The Mystery of the Blue Train by her.

6. Miss Marple or Poirot, and explain your reasoning about your choice, also favourite non-recurring character, so just one from one of the books that you loved?

I think Poirot, because I have read only one book of Miss Marple, that is The Murder at the Vicarage, but I did not like it much because in this book she was like a secondary character and we do not hear the story from her perspective, and so I didn’t quite get to know her detective skills in the case. Also, the favourite non-recurring character of mine will be – Can I say I liked the villain of And Then There Were None simply because of how their brain works?

7. Agatha Christie also wrote as Mary Westmacott, have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think of them and were they like her other books?

I haven’t read the books written as Mary Westmacott, but would like to read them.

8. There are quite a few books that feature Agatha as the character rather than the author, talk about the ones you have read and really enjoyed – if you have not, then would you like to?

I would like to read a book featuring her as a character, infact I have a book on my TBR that I wish to read someday that is The Christie Affair by Nina de Gramont.

9. Do you have a favourite Agatha Christie book that you find yourself turning to again and again?

I haven’t reread any books by her, but I would like to reread And Then There Were None by her.

10. She is known as the Queen of Crime, suggest another female crime author whom you like to read

I would say Lisa Jewell is great, though I have read only one book by her, but I really liked that book. You can check out my review for The Family Upstairs by her.

10(a). Do you prefer the ‘Golden Age’ style crime book or prefer a more modern take?

I would say a modern take because I have only read Agatha Christie books from the Golden Age, so if I read more from other Golden Age authors, then the answer might change.

Conclusion

I had fun doing this book tag, I also got to know that I have many pending books to read and adaptations to watch 😅. Is Agatha Christie your favourite author too? Let me know in the comments!
